HUD Announces Sustainable Regional Planning Grant Awards
Regional Planning Organizations Receive Bulk of Funding
After much anticipation, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced award of the Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grants. Regional planning organizations – urban and rural, large and small – received the greatest amount of funding. Of the 45 finalists, 37 are regional planning organizations. The National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) congratulates the awardees, all applicants and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for participating in this inaugural effort to further critical regional planning and implementation activities that build sustainable, livable communities through regional cooperation, broad stakeholder involvement and coordinated processes.
