U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan yesterday announced that the fiscal year 2010 appropriated funds of $100 million for regional integrated planning now has a description of the future grant program available for comment by clicking HERE.

 

HUD also announced the launch of HUD’s new Office of Sustainable Housing and Communities (OSHC). Overseen by HUD Deputy Secretary Ron Sims and under the management of Director Shelley Poticha, the Office will work to help build stronger, more sustainable communities by connecting housing to jobs, fostering local innovation and building a clean energy economy. Along with the Office is a new website – www.hud.gov/sustainability.

 

NARC encourages all members to respond to the public comment period on how the regional planning grants should be allocated and spent, and how the program can have the greatest on regional planning. All comments must be submitted by Friday, March 12, 2010 electronically via sustainablecommunities@hud.gov.
