September 4-5, 2008

Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, Chicago, IL

The National Association of Regional Councils (NARC), with assistance from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), held a two-day workshop on Building Planning Capacity Between Public and Private Sector Planning Partners in Chicago on September 4-5, 2008.

The workshop, hosted by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), was geared toward developing the capacity of public sector freight planners and their private sector counterparts to educate and learn from their counterparts on freight planning processes and timelines. The workshop explored the impacts of goods movement, land-use and transportation policies, and industry specific needs that link these two critical areas.
