Clearinghouse of Practices by Regional Councils on Green Infrastructure and Landcare Initiatives

The National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) has collected information from Regional Councils (RCs), Councils of Government (COGs) and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) nationwide about or related to green infrastructure and landcare initiatives.

NARC has developed a template to, continue to populate the Green Infrastructure and Landcare Clearinghouse, where you will be able to go and find out what your regional planning colleagues are doing around the country. This Clearinghouse will continue to grow as more COG's contribute their information.

Athough the projects may not be called Green Infrastructure or Landcare, many of these projects relate to the overarching environmental concepts. Some of the projects related to Landcare and Green Infrastructure are called Greenways Planning, Ecological Design, Land Use Planning, Conservation Planning, Open Space/ Recreation Planning, Natural Resource Planning, Natural Infrastructure, Corridor Management, Visioning/Scenario Planning, Regional Growth Management, and Environmental Protection or Preservation/Restoration Planning.  These projects are also critical to maintaining the natural ecological process and therefore will be included in this clearinghouse.
